Flashy Food

If you thought the human pursuit of goods and products based purely on aesthetics was a human phenomenon, think again. Almost all of us have made a decision like buying a cereal because it comes with a great toy inside, choosing a candy because it has the best color, or forsaken healthy food in favor of less nutritional but more eye-catching food (or food-like substance). A recent study, described in this NPR story, shows that humans aren’t the only species fooled by a flashy appearance and good advertising.
