On possibly the most beautiful day of the season, we brought a little sunshine inside and did watercolor paintings depicting “the forest floor” as it might look this afternoon. Margaret Patten Smith led nine students in creating a composition; working with color, value, and shape; and creating a finished painting in the course of a few hours. This is the fourth year that the herbarium has offered this popular workshop. Many thanks to Margaret Smith and daughter Marghee Welch for again sharing their time and expertise with us.
