Color Coordinated

Sam

Sewanee grad and Friend of the Herbarium Sam Pickering C’63 dropped by the herbarium today. He had picked up a blackgum leaf while hiking near the Forestry Cabin. Not sure of its ID, he had run into Snowden first, where he found a forester happy to name the tree. Sam, who is recently retired from the University of Connecticut, is author of 27 books of personal essays. He’s on campus for his class’s 50th reunion this weekend.
