Floating Hearts

floating heartsThis lovely but invasive aquatic plant, Floating Hearts has been advancing across Lake Cheston for the past several years. And here’s a new patch getting started by the dam. Nymphoides peltata is described as invasive in several states. So far, it hasn’t got much of a foothold in Tennessee, but if our lake Cheston population is typical, it won’t be long until this pretty thing has made quite a pest of itself.

  1. As far as I’m concerned, it’s already a pest. Soon odonates will struggle to find a way up from the bottom! 😉
