I’m heading over to Foster Falls Saturday morning, July 31, to check out the profusion of late summer wildflowers blooming in the right-of-way above the falls. Yellow-fringed orchids are blooming, as are blazing stars, meadow-beauties, goldenrods, and more. And all of these are attracting a variety of butterflies, the most numerous of which seem to be swallowtails and skippers. Meet at 9 AM. After looking around in the power line, those who are interested can hike down to the bottom of the falls for a swim — or maybe a picnic. Hope to see you there!
