Gorgeous day at Lake Cheston! Pollinators are buzzing all over flowers at the water’s edge. Here are downy lobelia (Lobelia puberal) and Maryland meadow beauty (Rhexia mariana), two beautiful lookers that brighten the water’s edge.
I love that Thoreau referred to the fruits of the Rhexia as resembling little cream pitchers! I’d like to have a cream pitcher just like that.
