We all love red — such a cheerful and appealing color! Here are two plants that because of their red color have hoodwinked us into propagating them to the detriment of the native flora. The luscious red berries belong to a bush honeysuckle, Lonicera maackii. The red leaves to “burning bush,” Euonymus alatus. Both are “showing their stuff” right now, and both are aggressively invasive non-native plants. Don’t be enticed by their charms!
