Mtn Goat Trail Plant Survey

The Mountain Goat Trail, which now links Sewanee to Monteagle and will someday stretch all the way to Palmer, is adding a new 1.2-mile section in Tracy City. I accompanied Mountain Goat Trail Alliance Executive Director Patrick Dean to survey the route for the presence of Platanthera integrilabia, white fringeless orchid, which is proposed for inclusion in the list of federally endangered plants. We didn’t find the orchid, but did see some pretty plants and beautiful stonework associated with the old railroad. Nice day!
